Miracles are happening around here. For one, I finally had the chance to go and photograph the office break room we finished a few months ago. If you remember I posted about the kitchen here. Unfortunately, I don't have many before photos to give you the true scope of all the work that was put into this space.
Here you can see there were built-ins that were faux painted to look like real wood (yikes!). We replaced it with a built-in bench to offer more seating for employees should they use it for more than lunch breaks.
Progress shot: the polished concrete floors (that were done a few years ago) didn't quit reach the new bench because of the old built-ins. A simple and inexpensive solution was having the painters paint the unpolished concrete a matching color and adding an inexpensive rug (carpet we had bound) that also helped with the noise the metal chairs made on the concrete.
We went back and forth on a few options for art on this large wall. We knew it had to be a mural of sorts to not take away from the seating below. Our clients favorite place to visit is the Virgin Islands, so we painted their favorite map of the Islands they have in their home. Offices need to be personal too!
