House to Home: Maddie's Room

Spring is in the air and it's getting my creative juices flowing, mostly for outdoor projects. There is very little we've done to our home since moving in and although I feel the master bedroom should be on top of the to-do list, there wasn't a ton I had to get or do to complete the girls rooms. And it feels pretty good to check something off the list.

For Maddie's room, I wanted to have a soft feminine look using a few pops of color with items (and paint) I already had. The only thing I needed to purchase for this room was wall paint. Everything else we had or it was given to us. I have really generous and thoughtful people in my life. The bonus piece for this room was the dollhouse, I purchased from someone moving for $20 and I just gave it a little update with lots of paint, added 'wall paper' using wrapping paper that I glued on with modge podge and also added shingles using door shims. Plus it made for a pretty good birthday present! Unfortunately, I only have one 'before' photo of the room...
